Festo (www.festo.com) has unveiled the much-awaited pneumatic valve to the automation market. Offering a size-to-performance ratio never achieved before, the VUVG valve features a compact dimension and low weight aluminum housing.
The secret to the valve’s remarkable size-to-performance ratio is attributed to its patented cartridge sealing principle.
The company’s VUVG valves are ideally suited for use in automation applications requiring small scale, cost-effective and technologically universal solutions with high flow rates, such as in solar, electronics, packaging and textile industries.
Unlike other valves offered in the market, the new valves set a new standard in “footprint”, which describes the size-to-performance ratio. Aside from achieving greater dynamics, the VUVG valves also offer faster cycle times as it delivers up to 100 percent more flow.
The integration of 2 x 3/2-way valves into one valve housing offers another cost-efficient factor. Thus, one valve is sufficient to operate two single-acting cylinders, effectively reducing installation space by almost 50 percent.
With its high power density, the valve’s unique seal profile allows vacuum operation, longer service life and very high flow rates. Festo’s proprietary cartridge principle allows neatly separated two-pressure operation.
An electrical connection concept simplifies warehousing and ordering for users requiring a valve with variable electrics. With just a click, the patented electronics box is replaced, while retaining the valve housing. Only the connection option is altered. Regardless of the connection options, a wide range of variants can be fitted into the valve. In addition, its clearly structured order code makes ordering simple.
