Airstroke Actuators from Firestone Industrial Products

July 13, 2016 By Marisa Martin

Airstroke Actuators from Firestone Industrial Products perform the same type of actuation tasks as a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder. Long used in the industrial market as pneumatic actuators, they have been incorporated into a wide variety of machinery designs in a vast array of industries. The advantages of a flexible-walled pneumatic actuator include: durability; operates well in dirty, corrosive and abrasive industrial environments; easily accepts angular and lateral misalignment; and a high ratio of stroke-to-collapsed height.

Now that Firestone some years back, moved to South America. With their air load boots. Do they make different wall thickness of boots. I have encountered some at several paper mills that seem quite thin walled. The ones I’m used to were over 20 years old but very tough and seemed to have a thicker wall. Just wondering if there were different wall thickness for different applications. If so, or if Firestone has changed their wall thickness, please let me know. And where I can see the design details.
    Thanks
