SMC’s (www.smcusa.com) solenoid valves — the SJ, SV, VQC and the SY series — feature a robust design that seamlessly combine high flow with low power consumption.
Available in two compact sizes, the SJ series was specifically designed to deliver a low maintenance, low profile, four port solenoid valve and manifold. The series features a cassette type format, a special lock switch mechanism, which ensures that the valves are securely locked together, and uses a card-edge connector. The SJ2000 and SJ3000 measure just 7.5 mm and 10 mm wide, respectively. Both models can be combined in a single manifold and offer up to 32 solenoids and 24 stations. In addition, the valves are compatible with Serial Interface units for both DeviceNet and CC-Link protocols.
Instead of using conventional lead wires, the SV series uses a multi-connector for internal manifold wiring. The series simplifies the process of changing manifold stations by connecting each block with a connector. Aside from the cassette type base manifolds, the series also offer conventional tie-rod base type manifolds.
Meanwhile, the VQC series delivers outstanding response times and longer service life, while its five standard wiring packages also make wiring and maintenance work easy. Multi-pin connectors offer the valves the flexibility needed when changing manifold configuration or adding stations.
The pneumatic automation products manufacturer has also optimized the performance and reliability of the SY series, which feature a built-in strainer to protect it against foreign matter. Although the SY3000 and SY5000 feature similar valve width as their predecessors, their flow have been enhanced by up to 80 percent, enabling the size of the valve to be reduced.
