Piab ejector system enhances pick up speed and minimizes damage

piCOMPACT stillPiab’s piCOMPACT range is the first manifold-mounted and functional ejector system on the market based on the energy-efficient COAX technology. By working at low feed pressure and maximizing the usage rate of the compressed air, the COAX ejectors reduce energy consumption for manufacturers while increasing productivity and reliability. Products in the piCOMPACT range are ideal for pick-and-place operations where efficient handling of small, heavy parts is crucial, common for electronics, semiconductor, plastics, metal, small packaging, pick and place, robotic integration and the wood industry.

Using Piab’s COAX cartridges, the piCOMPACT range provides three times more vacuum flow than similar products. This reduces energy consumption by 30 to 50% compared with traditional ejectors, resulting in substantial sustainability benefits as well as energy and cost savings. By offering an increased vacuum flow, piCOMPACT ejectors strengthen product grip to increase pickup speed, minimize product damage and reduce waste. piCOMPACT also allows faster release of products from the suction cups onto the production line for efficiency gains.

The intelligent Energy-Saving (ES) function effectively turns off the compressed air usage when set vacuum level is achieved. An additional feature connected to the ES function, ACM, eliminates the issue of “motor-boating”, where the vacuum generator cycles on and off repeatedly in case of leakage. ACM automatically senses if ES is needed or not. It can also be used for monitoring when it is time to replace worn out suction cups. With integrated direct operating bullet valves for on/off and blow-off as part of the complete piCOMPACT package, reliability, uptime and speed of operation can be ensured.  piCOMPACT’s user-friendly signal and energy saving setting means there are no risks for any mistakes in setting parameters for efficient vacuum operation.

Products in the updated piCOMPACT range are smaller and lighter than conventional ejectors, reducing the total weight of vacuum handling systems. This design allows vacuum systems to move more quickly to increase production capacity.

The piCOMPACT vacuum ejectors are available in a broad selection to fit with a variety of systems, including those that require very low feed pressure or extra deep vacuum levels. In addition, the compact ejectors can be easily integrated into existing production lines with no modifications required, and can be quickly configured to meet individual manufacturing needs.
