Parker’s Piston Accumulator Bore Size Range Increases

The demand for large accumulators with excellent power density energy and fast response time is rising. In response, Parker is producing hydro-pneumatic piston accumulators with a 25-in. inside diameter (ID) bore.

Large bore piston accumulators have increasing application in large power plant valve actuators, die casting, injection molding machines, and hydraulic presses; as well as offshore, subsea, and deck drilling applications. These applications require a tremendous amount of energy. Hydraulic accumulators provide the needed energy in a smaller package. This is accomplished by designing accumulators that are rated for working pressures in excess of 10,000 psi.

The Parker piston accumulator capability now includes 1.5 to 25-in. bore sizes. All are custom designed to fit a specific application using a total customer-based systems approach that includes application engineering, and worldwide support.
