Numatics (www.numatics.com) has specifically designed and developed the KG Series pneumatic cylinders to excel even in the most challenging applications.
Specifically developed for automated valve operation, the cylinders are also used in the valve/knife gate industry and in applications requiring light pneumatic actuation.
The cylinders are available in bore sizes ranging from 1-1/2 inches to 24 inches. Except for seven-inched bores, aluminum tubes — which are hard coat anodized — are offered as standard on bores sized between 1-1/2 inches and 8 inches. An electro-chemical process, the hard coating generates a very dense surface of aluminum oxide.
Meanwhile, composite tube is offered as standard on 7-inch and 10-inch to 24-inch bore cylinders. Offered as an option on 1-1/2-inch to 6-inch and 8-inch bores, the company’s composite tubing features a robust material that are not heavier than traditional metallic materials.
The surface of the KG Series offers extreme hardness (60 RC.), making it resistant to corrosion, wear and low coefficient friction. Machined form precision square steel blocks, the end caps of the cylinders are either painted in black epoxy paint or the standard black paint.
For effortless breakaway, a recess on the piston-mating surface allows the air to work on a bigger piston area.
Other standard specifications of the pneumatic cylinder include from 5/8 inches to 3-1/2 inches piston rod diameters, nominal pressure rating of 150 psi, NPTF ports and a temperature of 10°F to 165°F (-23°C to 74°C).
