Exair’s Cold Gun Aircoolant System now CE compliant

Compressed air-operated products manufacturer Exair (www.exair.com) has optimized its latest Cold Gun Aircoolant System to meet the health, environmental and safety standards of the European Union to obtain the CE mark.

An affordable alternative to costly mist systems, Exair’s Cold Gun reduces heat buildup on machining operations by producing a quiet and cold stream of air. Without any moving component to wear out, the Cold Gun also eliminates the costs related with the filtration, purchase and disposal of liquid coolants. It also ensures that no worker related health problems will be encountered due to slipping on wet shop floors or breathing airborne coolants.

The company has integrated a stainless steel vortex tube into the Cold Gun Aircoolant System to convert a supply of compressed air into a hot exhaust at one end and a cold 20°F or -7°C air stream at the other end. In addition, the company has also enhanced the muffler located on the hot air exhaust of the Cold Gun to effectively reduce the noise level down to 70 dBA.

Featuring a magnetic base for portability and easy mounting, the Cold Gun also comes with a flexible ball and socket hose, which helps it keep its position while directing cold air into the desired point of use.

Exair’s non-adjustable Cold Gun Aircoolant System also prevents freeze-up during continuous use and is ideally suited for machining applications such as drill and cutter grinding, drilling, milling, band sawing, surface grinding, plastic machining and form grinding.
