The new EV 10 electronic flow control valve from C.Matic, Giussano, Italy, includes a circuit board, dc motor, tiny gear box and a needle valve. The PCB reads an electric input signal, processes it, and directs the servo-actuator to move the needle valve inside an orifice. The unit ensures linear flow rate changes that are proportional to electrical inputs.
One version has a built-in non-return valve that regulates air flow in one direction and permits free passage in the opposite direction. The valve self-compensates for hysteresis and has a resolution of 0.05% (full scale) and repeatability of ±0.025% f.s. Maximum flow at 6 bar (87 psi) and 1 bar (14.5 psi) differential ranges from 425 to 1,300 Nl/min (15 to 46 cfm).
