Norgren’s Swiss-based subsidiary FAS has launched the Chipsol Media Separated Valve (Chipsol MS 2/2 Valve), with a host of key benefits including low power consumption, compact size and an unsurpassed operating pressure range.
The new Chipsol Media Separated Valve was created in response to the higher demand for small media separated valves in environmental monitoring applications and life science analysis.
Weighing just 4.6 grams, energy consumption of only 0.5W, and a footprint of just 8 mm by 21 mm, the Chipsol MS 2/2 Valve is the excellent choice for systems that need a compact footprint and low heat generation.
The new Chipsol Media Separated Valve is also suited for various applications: It can serve as an isolation valve for portable devices like gas chromatographs. Secondly, it can provide dosing and dispensing functions where repeatability and precision are paramount in using shut-off valve for systems with limited space and low heat management capacity.
Norgen’s product is offered as a cartridge or sub-base mounted. It can also operate across a wide pressure range, from vacuum to 2.1 bar. Aside from that, the Valve delivers exceptional rinseability with virtually zero unswept volume, while its outlet and inlet volumes stand at nine µl.
The new Chipsol Media Separated Valve yields high flow rates, response times of less than five milliseconds and an operating life surpassing 30 million cycles. It is made from high-specification Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and clients can choose between two specifications.
One is the USP Class VI EPDM suited for applications dealing with sensitive samples or reagents; while the second, FFPM elastomers is for operations involving aggressive media such as acids or bases.
