I spoke with Danny Dehler of Nason at the MD&M West show here in Anaheim, California. Dehler is the company’s Sales Manager for Automation Products.
At the show, Nason is touting their NESD pressure switch/transducer, which has a unique LED display— it allows for 360° scrolling, and features field-programmable set points and hysteresis.
“It’s a crossbreed between a pressure transducer and a pressure switch,” said Dehler. “We’ve gotten a lot of calls from customers where they wanted a digital display. So this has a scrolling display. It’s pretty flexible, too; these can be up to IP69k washdown rated. And it has a 0.2% accuracy throughout its range.”
Dehler said that the product is suitable for anyplace that requires washdown.
“So with food-grade type applications, where they’re washing down the equipment after every shift, something like this would come in handy,” he said.
But Dehler stressed that 85% of what Nason does is custom—even on the temperature, pressure and vacuum switch side, they’ll customize products for their customers. Plus, they offer more than 80 different electrical connections; Dehler said their closest competitor has about five.
“We truly cater to the customer,” he said.
The NESD comes standard with one digital output (NPN or PNP), optional analog output, and operates from 10.5 to 28 V dc.
