Rated for 10,000,000 cycles, the compact valve greatly increases system uptime and minimizes maintenance costs. A new formed stainless steel bellows prevents outgassing, virtual leaks and particle entrapment, ensuring easy maintenance and extending the cycle life of the valve.

The High Cycle Valve is available in angle, inline and internal-only configurations, for ease of integration into new tool designs. High flow port sizes, including NW25, NW40 and NW50, use maximum internal diameters for greater conductance. Internal configurations can be used to integrate directly into the product, such as a load lock chamber, reducing the footprint of new tools. The TIG fusion welded vacuum grade body creates fewer entrapment areas, resulting in less contamination build-up.

The High Cycle Valve is available with an air solenoid for electro-pneumatic control of the valve and a limit switch assembly for remote indication in the open or closed position. In the event of power loss, the valve will automatically close. For leak tight operation, elastomer seals are available in Viton® for typical vacuum operating conditions, or Kalrez or Chemraz for higher temperature conditions and increased chemical resistance.

NORTH MANKATO, MN — MICO, Incorporated introduces a Check Valve Assembly for Full Power Brake Systems. It is a compact manifold assembly that includes a check valve and an inverted shuttle valve. The assembly supplies fluid for two separate accumulator circuits while reducing the necessary number of system components and limiting plumbing and hardware requirements.

The Check Valve Assembly is ideal for full power hydraulic brake systems that must store energy in two separate accumulator circuits. It features high flow capacity up to 11 gallons per minute and a maximum operating pressure of 3,625 PSI. Among the potential applications are split systems with a pressure-compensated pump, and electrohydraulic accumulator charging controlled by a pressure transducer at the unit’s switch port.

Pressure is supplied to two accumulators by the assembly’s inlet port. The inverted shuttle valve isolates the higher pressure of the two accumulator circuits, while directing the lower pressure to the switch port. A check valve prevents pressure at the switch port from leaking back to the inlet port.

By combining the functionality of multiple components into a single housing, the Check Valve Assembly decreases costs and time required for installation. Its design also reduces potential leak points and contains possible failure points for the hydraulic system. The assembly limits check valve leakage to a maximum of 0.25 cubic centimeters per minute at 3,500 PSI.

GF Piping Systems introduced the Type 514-519 High Flow Diaphragm Valve Series, a uniquely designed valve that provides a true break-through for weir style valves. The new valve features an optimized, turbulence-free flow geometry that offers significantly increased flow rate performance and lower energy consumption. These features expand the valve’s suitability for applications where diaphragm valves were previously not considered due to flow restriction.

The valve’s new flow geometry design provides Cv values double the traditional design with values ranging from 3.9 to 116.8, depending on size and end connection. The modified geometry provides linear flow and control characteristics that improve processing stability, resulting in reduced operating costs and more cost-effective media transport. A self-draining feature minimizes dead space and achieves improved hygiene and better resistance to crystallizing fluids.

The innovative valve design also does away with traditional metal bolts required to hold the valve together. Instead, the top-works are threaded directly onto the body, eliminating the need to re-torque the bolts due to thermal expansion. With its metal-free threaded bonnet connection, corrosive build-up is minimized in applications with highly aggressive media.

The Diaphragm Valve Series is available in PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, and ABS body materials in sizes 1/2-2″ (with larger sizes available in the 314-319 Series). Diaphragms are available in EPDM, PTFE, FPM and NBR. This material range covers practically the entire spectrum of chemicals with which the diaphragm valves can come into contact, optimizing process compatibility. Standard PVC, CPVC, PP, and ABS versions handle pressures up to 150 PSI while PVDF versions handle pressures up to 240 PSI. End connections include true union, spigot, flanged and zero static. Basic versions of the diaphragm valves are operated manually with a lockable handwheel for protection against unwanted use. An optional self-adjusting electrical feedback unit can be quickly retrofitted, enabling automatic control, piping system regulation and reliable process monitoring.

Additional design features include rounded contours with smooth transitions and radii, which provide less abrasion and noise emission. Color coding on the housing nut and on the housing itself allow easy indication of pressure rating and diaphragm material. A two-color position indicator, which is clearly visible from a distance, shows the actual valve position.

The new valve family can be completely automated with GF Piping Systems’ Pneumatic Actuators DIASTAR 10 (150 PSI) and DIASTAR 16 (240 PSI). Modular design allows easy field installation of the actuator to a manual valve as well as position feedback switches and other accessories.

The new valve series is suitable for extremely contaminated media, media containing solids, and high purity liquids for a variety of applications such as chemical process industry to microelectronics, water treatment, cooling and control.

Kalamazoo, MI — Humphrey Products is proud to announce that it received the accreditation for ISO 13485: 2003 in addition to its continued accreditation of ISO 9001 status. ISO 13485 represents the requirements that medical device manufacturers must incorporate into their management, engineering, distribution and quality systems.

Adding to all the normal benefits that the ISO 9001 registration provides customers and distribution, ISO-13485 certification provides the system controls, serialization, process change controls and notification that are currently required for products used and sold within medical markets.

“The medical market is a huge and all encompassing category and can cover many and varied applications,” said Robert Humphrey, President and CEO of Humphrey Products, “anywhere from process equipment used in the automated preparation and evaluation of biopsy materials on test slides, to those applications such as oxygen concentrators used by the patient within their own homes, or all the way into the ER, and patient invasive devices used by surgeons to assist with various medical procedures.”

Assured Automation announced the FireBag – a new line of thermally actuated gas shut-off valves used to control the flow of natural, propane or butane gases.

Many existing emergency gas shut-off devices require manual manipulation – a poor solution in emergency fire situations. The FireBag provides a solution by automatically discontinuing the flow of gas when the ambient temperature reaches 100° C (212° F). With this device, gas is automatically discontinued in fire situations to avert fire escalation and potential gas explosions.
According to the NFPA, the U.S. fire departments face 2,110 home fires a year where natural gas is the first material ignited, and 1,170 home fires a year where LP-gas is involved with the start of a fire. Most home gas fires originate in the kitchen at the stove or gas range.

The FireBag domestic product line includes:

o G4T404 for utility-supplied gas pipes, heating systems with radiant pipes, and hot air generators
o G2T50 for utility-supplied gas meters
o G4T10 for gas boilers and wall heaters
o G2T40 for gas appliances such as stoves ( ranges) and gas radiators
o G4TF for thermal stations

The FireBag industrial product line includes:

o G4T404 for varnishing and paint booths
o TASF for gas motors
o G4TF for commercial ovens

The FireBag has been used throughout the world to provide automatic thermal interruption of gas in paint booth applications, water heaters, stoves and ranges, radiator and gas utilities.

Although US fire codes and certifications for thermally activated shutoff devices currently do not exist, the FireBag conforms to internationally established codes and standards. For example, the European UNI EN 1775 Standard requires all indoor gas pipelines be designed, built and protected to prevent explosions in the case of fire as well as spreading of the fire itself. The FireBag conforms to this standard as well as the European Directive 90/396/CEE, the German Firing System Directive and DVGW TRGI 86/96. It also is certified for the German National Standard DIN 3586.

The Series SVT Solenoid Valve Enclosure with Timer is a compact, reliable and economic package designed for small to medium filtration systems. It combines a timer board and solenoid valve enclosure into one package, eliminating the need for separate enclosures and wiring. The SVT is available with 2, 4 or 6 valves. For larger systems expansion modules can be daisy chained to the SVT for a maximum of 60 outputs. The universal power supply accepts 90-240 VAC at either 50 or 60 Hz for both domestic and international requirements. On-Demand Cleaning or Down Time Cleaning functions can be selected with a simple dip-switch. Time-On and Time-Off settings are selected using two potentiometers.
